| Business executive and conservationist, born in New York City, USA, the son of John D Rockefeller, Jr. He studied at Princeton, became involved in commercial aviation, and managed several family enterprises, including the Rockefeller Center entertainment and business complex. As director of the non-profit-making Jackson Hole Preserve, he oversaw the donation of 33 000 acres of Rockefeller land to the Grand Teton National Park. He later headed the Citizens Advisory Committee on Environmental Quality (1969–73). |
