| biography:
| Talk-show host, born in New York City, USA. After leaving school he joined a Florida radio station, and in the 1960s hosted local talk-shows. He wrote entertainment columns for the Miami Herald in the 1970s and in 1978 began a national late-night radio show on the Mutual Network. He joined CNN in 1985, taking Larry King Live to the top of the ratings by 1992, widely watched for its commentary and debate on contemporary events. He has made many specials, and written several books, starting with Tell It to the King (1988) and including The Best of Larry King Live (1995). |
