| Protestant reformer, born in Siena, C Italy. He trained as a lawyer at Padua, then turned to biblical studies. He travelled widely in Europe, settling in Zürich (1548). His anti-Trinitarian views were developed by his nephew into a doctrine known as Socinianism. |
