| biography:
| Christian apologist, brought up in North Africa. His principal work is his Divinarum Institutionum libri vii, a systematic account of Christian attitudes. He settled as a teacher of rhetoric in Nicomedia, Bithynia, where he witnessed the constancy of the Christian martyrs under the persecution of Diocletian. |
