| Media executive, born in London, UK, the son of Rupert Murdoch. He graduated in philosophy from Princeton University, and became general manager of Queensland Newspapers, part of News Limited, the Australian company which itself is the original arm of the News Corporation empire. In 1995 he became publisher of The Australian newspaper, and his meteoric rise continued, so that by 1997 he was the executive chairman of News Limited. One of a trio of possible heirs to Rupert, Lachlan is the only sibling with a seat on News Corporation's board. |
