| Japanese tycoon. He studied at Cambridge, and returned to Japan to be vice-president of the Mitsubishi Co, founded by his grandfather in the 1870s. President from 1916, he expanded the company into a commercial group turning over more than 10% of Japan's national income before World War 2, and producing most of the ships, aircraft, and equipment used by the Japanese armed forces in the War. |
