| Popular singer and guitarist, born in Houston, Texas, USA. While in high school he performed on American Bandstand, and in the 1960s–1970s played in various jazz, folk, and country-rock groups including Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. On his own as a country singer, he found wide popularity with the hit ‘Lucille’ (1977), and then produced such hits as ‘Lady’ (1980) and ‘I Don't Need You’ (1981). |
