| Actor, born on St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Brought up in New Jersey and Florida, he trained at the Juilliard School, then acted on stage in theatres across the USA. He is best known for his role as Dr Frasier Crane, originally seen in Cheers (1982–93) and Wings, and then in Frasier (from 1993, 2 Emmies). His feature films include Down Periscope (1996) and The Real Howard Spitz (1998). In 1995 he published a volume of autobiography, So Far... . |
