| Golfer, born in Ayr, Queensland, NE Australia. In 1996 she became the first woman to break the $1 million prize-money barrier while playing on the US Ladies' PGA tour, and was named ‘Rookie of the Year’. She won the women's Open title in the UK in 1995, the youngest ever winner, won it again in 1997, and went on to win a series of major tournaments, notably the Australian Ladies Masters (1998, 1999), Du Maurier Classic (1999), US Women's Open (2000, 2001), and the LPGA title (2001). |
