| Zoologist, born in Würzburg, SC Germany, the brother of Philipp Franz von Siebold. He studied at Berlin and Göttingen universities, and was professor at Erlangen, Freiburg, Wrocław, Poland (formerly Breslau, Prussia), and Munich. He carried out research on invertebrates, and made significant contributions to parasitology. He founded the Zeitschrift für wissenschaftliche Zoologie (Journal of Scientific Zoology). |
