| Writer, born in Axams in Tirol, W Austria. He was a physician in Vienna until devoting himself to literature in 1905. His poetry is often written in Tirolean dialect, and his plays are powerful pieces depicting the life and history of the farmers in his Tirolean homeland, and include Der Judas von Tirol (1897), Erde (1898), and Glaube und Heimat (1910). |
