| Writer, born in Rotterdam, W Netherlands. Well known as a writer of children's literature, his biggest literary achievement is his characteristic adaptation of the children's Bible, Woord voor woord (1976, Word for Word) which was translated into various languages. In 1993 he published his first novel for ‘adults’, De heimweeplant (The Homesick Plant), the story of the return of a young woman to her birthplace, Indonesia. |
