| biography:
| Archaeologist and archivist of the Balearic Islands, born in Ciudadela, Menorca, Spain. He wrote an interesting social history: Forenses y ciudadanos: historia de las discusiones civiles de Mallorca en el siglo XV (1847). He also wrote some verse and translated three plays of Shakespeare, but he is best remembered for the volumes he contributed to P Piferrer and Francisco Javier Parcerisa's Recuerdos y Bellezas de España: Castilla la Nueva (1848-50), Asturias y León (1855-9), Valladolid, Palencia y Zamora (1864), Salamanca, Ávila y Segovia (1872), Aragón (1884). Islas Baleares (Barcelona, 1886) is in the series España: sus Monumentos y Artes. |
