| French football administrator. He founded the Red Star Club of Paris, became president of the French football league (1910), and was president of the French Football Federation (1919–49). He promoted the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), of which he was president (1921–56), and founded the World Cup competition (1930), his name being added to the title in 1946. |
