| biography:
| Painter and artist, born in Julius Pincas, Vidin, NW Bulgaria. A naturalized US citizen, he studied in Vienna and Munich, and in 1905 settled in Paris. A well-known figure in bohemian society, he produced subtly erotic pictures of young girls in the manner of French 18th-c peintres galants and engravers. He hanged himself on the opening day of his one-man show in Paris. |
