| Performer, poet, and novelist, born in Rotterdam, W Netherlands. Central themes in his work are his love for jazz music, Sparta football club, and his fascination for both world wars. In his home town of Rotterdam, he is called the ‘Night Mayor of Rotterdam’ by way of an honorary title.
