| British television presenter. She studied in Manchester and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, then began broadcasting with BBC Manchester, moving to BBC London in 1960. In 1972 she joined Thames Television, where she presented the long-running holiday programme Wish You Were Here...? (from 1973). She hosted her own daily programme for Radio 2 (1990), and has been commentator for many royal and state occasions. |
