| A member of a family of architects and sculptors of German origin, Juan Colonia arrived in the city of Burgos in 1440. Together with his son Simon, he worked on the Chapel of the Purification, and in 1442 began construction of the spires of the main façade. In 1454 he started building the Church of the Cartuja de Miraflores, which was later completed by his son. |
