| Film producer, born in Madrid, Spain. Son of the actor Rafael Bardem and actress Matilde Muñoz Sampedro Muñoz, he studied agriculture before enrolling as a student in the Instituto de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas in their first class of 1947, but left without a diploma. He first film as a producer was Esa pareja feliz (1951), co-directing it with Luis G Berlanga. Later films include Nunca pasa nada (1963) and El último día de la guerra (1968). With the arrival of democratic rule in Spain, he was able to return to the themes he preferred with El puente (1976) and Siete días de enero (1978). In 1987 he produced an episode for the television series Lorca, muerte de un poeta. |
