| Film actor, writer, producer, and businessman, born in New York City, USA, the son of Douglas Fairbanks, Snr. In his youth he made Hollywood movies in the style of his father, such as Sinbad the Sailor (1947), and also gained a reputation as a producer. He later became interested in international affairs, and made a name for himself as a diplomat. He was appointed to the boards of many companies, and received many international honours. An autobiography, The Salad Days, appeared in 1988. |
