| Sculptor, born in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. A brother of Didac and the son of Bernat, he was assistant to Alonso Cano and Sebastián Herrera in Granada. Moving to Madrid he worked as sculptor for Carlos II, where he produced the remarkable statue ‘La Concepción’ for the Church of San Isidro. He returned later to Granada where he lived for another 30 years. Among his works are the eight statues of the Cardinal Chapel in the Cathedral of Córdoba and a statue of St Thomas for the same see. |
