| biography:
| Painter and tapestry maker, born in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Catalunya, NE Spain. He studied at the Escola de Belles Arts in Barcelona, where he was awarded a prize for etching. He held his first exhibition of etchings in Sant Cugat in 1953 and followed this with an exhibition of murals in 1954. He was appointed director of the Escola Catalana de Tapís in 1959. His exhibition of tapestries in Barcelona (1961) was so well received that during the next year he exhibited many times in several cities. Other works include the painted glass windows for the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Rome (1966), and an example of his work can be seen in the contemporary section in the Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. |
