| Poet and critic, of Basque and Cuban descent, born in Barcelona, NE Spain. He compiled an important bilingual anthology, Poetas catalanes contemporáneos (1958) and an annotated anthology, Nueva poesía cubana (1969). His own books of poetry include El retorno (1955), Salmos al viento (1958), Claridad (1961), Años decisivos (1961), and Algo sucede (1968). He has translated from, and written essays on Salvador Espriu, Pavese, Quasimodo, and Pasolini. |
