In partnership with Doris Humphrey, he formed the Humphrey–Weidman Company (1928–45), developing his work as a choreographer of comic and satirical works. In 1945 he founded his own school and company, and in the late 1950s he formed the experimental Expression of Two Arts Theater in New York with the sculptor Mikhail Santaro, staging works that drew on graphics, mime, and dance. |
