| Artist, born in Epsom, Surrey, SE England, UK. An abstract artist in the 1930s, he developed a representational style, as seen in his pictures of war damage and his topographical pictures, notably the watercolours of Windsor Castle commissioned by the Queen (1941–2). He is also known for his theatre sets, as well as the stained glass designs in Coventry Cathedral. |
