He went to the USA (1932), joined General Electric's research laboratories in Schenectady, New York (1937–46), then worked at Brookhaven National Laboratories as a department head until his retirement (1947–78). He was an innovative designer of particle accelerators and made major contributions to nuclear fusion. |
