| Sculptor, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He travelled extensively, studied in Berlin and Paris (1907–10, 1914–16), and in the USA in Chicago, Pennsylvania, and Boston. After becoming an expatriate in Paris, he was interred in a Nazi concentration camp during World War 2. He is known for his innovative cubist sculptures, such as ‘Composition Around Two Voids’ (1932). |
