| Dancer, born in Southsea, Hampshire, S England, UK. A child actor, he studied at the Rambert School, joining Ballet Rambert in 1945. In 1949 he was a principal with Petit's Ballets de Paris, returning to Britain in 1950 to join the London Festival Ballet, where he became artistic director (1962–5), later returning to dancing and teaching. |
