| biography:
| Artist and tapestry designer, born in Ingham, Queensland, NE Australia. During war service in the Far East he studied the arts of India, Burma, and China, which influenced his subsequent work using formalized leaf designs to make two-dimensional patterns of shape and colour. In Aubusson, France, he worked from 1969 to 1972 on his best-known commissions, the Curtain of the Sun and Curtain of the Moon for the prosceniums of the new Sydney Opera House. |
