| Writer, born in Bandung, Indonesia, the son of the playwright Jan Fabricius. He wrote over 75 books during his life, often featuring Indonesia or Italy as a setting for his romantic adventure stories. An excellent story-teller, his books were popular with a wide audience, and he also wrote plays and children's books. In 1931 he received the Van der Hoogtprijs for Komedianten trokken voorbij (Comedians Passed By). |
