| Operatic and concert soprano, born in Melbourne, Victoria, SE Australia. A principal artist with the Australian Opera since 1971, she made her debut at Covent Garden, London, in 1974. One of her most celebrated performances is of the four heroines in The Tales of Hoffmann, and she is renowned for her performances of Mozart. She won the Dame Joan Hammond Award for Outstanding Service to Opera in Australia in 1987. |
