| Theatre director, teacher, and drama theorist, born in Rzeszów, SE Poland. His work had a major impact on experimental theatre and actor training in the West during the 1960s and 1970s. After studying in Kraków and Moscow, he founded the Theatre of 13 Rows in Opole (1956–64), which moved to Wrocław as the Laboratory Theatre (1965–84). After 1982 he lived and worked in the USA and Italy. |
