| Film producer, born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He studied psychology and photography at the University of Arizona, and took up a career in advertising. He moved into film production, and in 1983 teamed up with Don Simpson to head a company that produced such successful films as Flashdance (1983), Beverley Hills Cop (1984), Top Gun (1986), Days of Thunder (1990), and Dangerous Minds (1995). The partnership ended shortly before Simpson's death in 1996. Bruckheimer's later productions include Armageddon (1998), Gone in 60 Seconds (2000), and Pearl Harbor (2001). |
