| Business executive and philanthropist, born in New York City, New York, USA. In 1926 he established his own investment firm on Wall Street. He founded the Institute for the Crippled and Disabled (1917) as the first rehabilitation centre in the USA, and financed studies on infantile paralysis and diphtheria. He also financed the production of King of Kings (1926–7), the first film on the life of Jesus Christ. |
