| biography:
| Composer, probably born in Termonde, NC Belgium. He had become a court musician to Charles VII of France by 1452, and treasurer of the abbey of St Martin at Tours (1459). He was also Kapellmeister to Louis XI. He played an important part in the stylistic development of church music in the 15th-c, and was renowned as a teacher. His works include 14 Masses, and several motets and songs. |
