| Poet and chronicler, born in Desvres, Burgundian Artois, France. He studied in Paris and (c.1464) entered the service of Charles the Bold, Duke of Burgundy, succeeding Georges Chastellain as chronicler and court poet. He continued the Chronique (1474–1505), but is best remembered for his version of the Roman de la Rose. |
