| Footballer, born in Belgium. A youth international, his name entered football's vocabulary after he challenged the game's contract and transfer rules at the European Court of Justice after his club, FC Liège, refused to allow him a transfer to the French club Dunkerque. Bosman won a judgment in 1995 which made players free agents at the end of contracts and prevented limitations on the number of overseas players at clubs in the European Union. |
