| biography:
| Painter, citizen of Barcelona, NE Spain. The brother of Francesc, Pere, and Joan, he created the main altarpiece of Sant Pere de Galligans in Gerona (1360) and the altarpiece of the Holy Sepulchre for the convent of the same name in Zaragoza (1361). He started working with his brother Pere in 1362. Between them and also in collaboration with Joan, they had a busy workshop. In the years 1366–70 Jaume and Pere created an altarpiece for the monastery of Pedralbes (Barcelona). Jaume's style, until the point at which it can be distinguished from Pere's, illustrates the new Sienese tendency introduced by Ramon Destorrent. |
