| Television presenter, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Briefly a reporter and WMAQ-TV co-presenter in Chicago, she joined National Broadcasting Company's (NBC) Today show in 1976, becoming co-presenter in 1982. Resigning after a younger female host was added in 1989, she began an NBC weekly magazine series, Real Life with Jane Pauley (from 1991), later renamed Dateline. She has received many awards for her work and was inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame in 1998. She is married to Garry Trudeau. |
