| Sculptor and poet, born in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, NE Scotland, UK. He studied under William Brodie and John Mossman, and was appointed the King's Sculptor in Ordinary for Scotland in 1921. His major sculptures include the huge statue of Robert Burns in Irvine, and the Knox statue in St Giles's Cathedral, Edinburgh. |
