| Psychologist, born in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. A specialist in child psychology and social psychology, he was professor at Toronto (1889), Princeton (1893), Johns Hopkins (1903), and the University of Mexico (1909), settling in Paris in 1913. He was the founder-editor of the Psychological Review (1894–1909), and editor of the Dictionary of Philosophy and Psychology (1901–6). |
