| Writer, born in Houston, Texas, USA. He studied at the University of Southwest Louisiana (1955–7), and the University of Missouri (1959 BA; 1960 MA). He worked as a surveyor, reporter, social worker, teacher, and for the US Forest Service and the Job Corps Conservation Center in Kentucky. A writer of short stories and novels, he is best known for his series of mystery novels featuring his Cajun police detective, Dave Robicheaux, as in A Stained White Radiance (1992). |
