| Composer and organist, born in Norwich, Norfolk, E England, UK. He was organist and composer at Marylebone Gardens (1769–73) and at Vauxhall Gardens (1774–1820). He wrote the music for a large number of plays, as well as cantatas, odes, and a vast number of popular songs, including ‘The Lass of Richmond Hill’. |
