| biography:
| Photographer, born in Curbevoie, NC France. He adopted an informal approach to the photography of everyday subjects, including experiences in World War 1 and the life of the leisured classes of the 1920s. A one-man show at the New York Museum of Modern Art in 1963 aroused wide interest, and he is noted for his collection, Diary of a Century (1970). |
