| Novelist and poet, born in Driewegen, SW Netherlands. His first work was a collection of short stories Het plantaardig bewind (1964, The Vegetable Regime), and during the 1960s he contributed to the literary magazine Raster. In his work, he uses mythical elements to describe the relation between order and chaos, creation and decay. In 1988 he was awarded the Constantijn Huygensprijs for his entire work. |
