| Cellist, born in Oxford, Oxfordshire, SC England, UK. She made her debut at the age of 16 and quickly established an international reputation. In 1967 she married the pianist Daniel Barenboim, with whom she gave many recitals. Her career as a player ended in 1973, when she developed multiple sclerosis, but thereafter she continued as a teacher. |
