| Novelist, born in The Hague, W Netherlands. In 1963 he made his debut with Bij nader inzien (On Second Thought), an extensive autobiographical novel about the friendship and ideals of five students, including the writer Frida Vogels. He embarked on a series of seven novels entitled Het bureau (The Office), of which three had been published by 1999. In these novels he gives a detailed picture of the oppressive scientific environment in which he was active for many years. |
