| Gallery director and writer, born in New York City, New York, USA. He attended public school, became the director of the Leo Castelli Gallery (1959), and director and president of the O K Harris Gallery in 1969. Known as the ‘father of pop art’ he wrote one of the first pop art novels, Doobie Doo (1966). He was also involved in saving architectural fragments from restored or demolished buildings. |
