| Writer, born in Halle, EC Germany. She was married to her cousin, the novelist Heinrich Wolfgang Seidel. Greatly influenced by Romanticism, her poetry focused on the themes of religion and motherhood. She wrote patriotic poetry during World War 1 and eulogized Hitler, something she later regretted. Her best-known work is the novel Das Wunschkind (1930). |
