| Cyclist, born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, C England, UK. As an amateur he won a bronze medal at the 1963 world championships in the pursuit. He lost in the quarter finals at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, but won a gold medal at the 1966 Commonwealth Games. He won four professional world titles in 1968, 1970, and 1972–3. |
